F-BRIDGE School 2010 Print E-mail

Ceramic nuclear fuel and cladding materials

The school was held from September 28th to October 2nd in Karlsruhe (Germany).

Scope

The F-BRIDGE project seeks to bridge the gap between basic research and technological applications to design fuels for the various generation-IV nuclear-reactor systems. Advanced modelling and separate effect experiments are carried out in order to obtain more precise physical descriptions of ceramic fuels and cladding on all relevant scales, from the atomic to the macroscopic.

The 2010 school focused on ceramic nuclear fuel and cladding materials.

Program

  Part I: Introduction

  Part II: Experimental techniques

  Part III: Modelling techniques

Part IV: Integration of the computational

              and experimental techniques
